Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation

Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation is a very new field in veterinary medicine. As part of our mission to provide today’s most innovative therapies, CUVS is one of the few institutions in the country to offer this service at a specialty level.

We provide not only comprehensive post-operative physical rehabilitation, but also the diagnosis and management of nonsurgical orthopedic conditions, and the conditioning of canine athletes and service dogs.

If your pet has suffered an orthopedic or neurologic illness or injury, or has undergone surgery, he or she can enjoy the same benefits from physical rehabilitation as humans do - including faster recovery, less pain, and improved quality of life. We work closely with CUVS’s board-certified surgeons to develop the optimal treatment plan, integrating post-operative care and rehabilitation tailored to your pet’s unique situation. For nonsurgical patients, we combine rehabilitation techniques with other modalities and pain management, to facilitate sustained recovery, comfort and function.
