Dr. Himelman is originally from central New Jersey and attended college at University of Wisconsin-Madison where she received a B.S. in Zoology. She then received her veterinary degree from Ross University. Following a rotating internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City, Dr. Himelman stayed at the Animal Medical Center to complete a residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine.  She practiced at a specialty hospital in New York City prior to joining the team at CUVS in 2020. 

While Dr. Himelman enjoys all facets of Internal Medicine, her particular interests include immune-mediated disease, infectious disease, respiratory disease, and endoscopy.
