Emergency & Critical Care Resident

Dr. Mercado earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 2014, graduating with Honorable Mention. She subsequently completed an advanced program in small animal medicine and surgery in 2018. After several years practicing in both general and specialty hospitals in Mexico and the United States, she completed a rotating internship in New York City before joining CUVS' Emergency & Critical Care residency program in 2026. 

Over the past decade, Dr. Mercado has developed a focused dedication for emergency and critical care medicine, gaining diverse experience managing critically ill and complex patients. Her clinical interests include shock, sepsis, trauma, mechanical ventilation, and transfusion medicine. She is particularly passionate about collaborative care, clinical education, and providing compassionate, comprehensive support to her patients and their families.
