Dr. Roinestad is a graduate of Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, she completed an advanced emergency training program and went on to work as an emergency veterinarian at specialty hospitals in New York City and New Jersey. After completing a 3-year specialty residency training program at Cornell University Veterinary Specialists, during which she served as Chief Resident, she joined CUVS as a staff criticalist in 2025.
Dr. Roinestad has particular interests in pain assessment/management, multimodal analgesia and biomarkers of illness severity, and has published research in these areas. She is a strong advocate for a collaborative approach to veterinary medicine, working closely with other specialists, nurses, and support staff to provide the highest level of care for her patients and their families.
