Dr. Lenfest is an Assistant Professor in the section of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation at Cornell’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She is based at Cornell in Ithaca but spends time at CUVS, seeing patients and collaborating with our specialists.
Dr. Lenfest received her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Following an internship in Florida, she completed a residency in sports medicine and rehabilitation at Cornell University. After some time in practice, she returned to join the faculty at Cornell where she is involved in clinical practice, research and education. She is board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Lenfest’s interest in sports medicine developed from involvement with high performance horses as a breeder and competitor. This interest flourished during vet school when she worked at the Working Dog Center helping with the research, training, and development of working dogs for search and rescue, law enforcement, and single purpose occupations. During her residency, she worked in Alaska as a veterinarian for the Yukon Quest sled dog race and served as part of the veterinary team for the Westminster Dog show.
Dr. Lenfest’s clinical interests include musculoskeletal ultrasound and regenerative medicine to manage a variety of conditions. She brings deep expertise together with incredible warmth and compassion to her patients and their families.
